may 14, 63 BC - Kingmen Inssurection

Description:

A few years into the war, with Moroni and all the army occupied in fighting the Lamanites, the Kingmen again felt emboldened enough to begin stirring up more trouble.

While it is likely that it was fomenting for a short while, it was likely about this time that it boiled over into actual rebellion.
Led by a man named Pachus, the Kingmen attacked the government in Zarahemla. Pahoran was forced to flee the city, taking refuge in Gideon, and Pachus was installed as king.

Soon after this Pachus sent an epistle to Ammoron, pledging to maintain Zarahemla, thus keeping the Nephites weakened. He offered to do this if Ammoron would make him ruler over the Nephites under him.

I believe that it was partly due to this turn of events that Ammoron later sought for a prisoner exchange.
