Description:

The Sugar Act, also known as the Plantation Act or Revenue Act was passed by Parliament ending the smuggling trade of sugar and molasses coming in from the French and Dutch West Indies. This lowered the tax for colonists in the Americas, however many cargoes were caught and seized by the strict governmental policy.
