Description:
Military coup failed to win control of the entire country, a civil war began. The Nationalists, the rebels, received aid from Fascist, Italy and Nazi Germany. The Republicans received aid from the Soviet Union, also from International Brigades, composed of volunteers from Europe and the United States. The outcome of the Spanish Civil War altered the balance of power in Europe, testing military power of Germany and Italy. It pushed away from the peace movement and more becoming to anti-fascists fighting for democracy.
