Description:

Through this program, FDR created a national pension fund for retired Americans. It also formed an unemployment insurance system and a public assistance program for dependent mothers and the physically disabled. It still exists today to provide insurance to those who are unemployed, and it currently makes up about ¼ of the federal budget.
