Description:

The Panama Canal is one of the seven wonders of the modern world. The United States bought the rights to build it from France, and liberated Panama from Colombian control in order to secure the rights to construct it. The canal dramatically improved trade between the Eastern and Western hemispheres of the world. America gave full control of the canal to Panama one-hundred years after its construction.
