Thomas Jefferson was most known for orchestrating the Louisiana Purchase. In purchasing the land from France to help them finance the defeat of a slave rebellion in Haiti, he increased America’s land by over 100%. The Louisiana Purchase expanded American land into the west and paved the way for the creation of new territories via westward expansion.
