Description:

The Attack on Fort Sumter was the first battle of the Civil War. It took place in South Carolina, where Confederate forces fired at a Union fort in construction as well as the ships that attempted to rescue the Union soldiers under siege. The Confederacy won the battle; there were no casualties.
