dec 16, 1773 - Boston Tea Party

Description:

The Boston Tea Party was an act of protest in which American colonists dumped 342 chests of tea into the harbor. This was to let the British know that they would not stand for tyranny and that they wanted their independence. Through this protest the famous phrase “no taxation without representation” was founded and it meant that the colonists felt that they shouldn’t be taxed for British concerns when they were not properly represented in the government.
