jan 1, 1867 - Pre - 1867: The Metis Lived Peacefully In Manitoba By The Red River
Description:
From before 1867, The Metis lived a peaceful life in Manitoba. They lived off the land like their First Nation ancestors. By hunting animals and farming their crops for food, the Metis were able to live an efficient and stable lifestyle on one piece of land, contrary to the nomadic lifestyle of their First Nations ancestors. These pictures below show the type of life the Metis lived and the type of environment that they lived in.
