dec 25, 1991 - Collapse of The Soviet Union
Description:
The Collapse of the Soviet Union officially marks the end of the Soviet Union. The collapse occurred on December 25th, 1991 when Mikhail Gorbachev resigned, and subsequently the Russian Federation was proclaimed. With the only other superpower gone, America was left as the world’s sole superpower. This has allowed the United States to project its power uncontested across the world.
