jul 2, 1964 - Civil Rights Act

Description:

After the many protests for equality by the Civil Rights Movement going on at the time, the Civil Rights Act was officially signed into legislation on July 2nd of 1964. The act stated that discrimination based on race, sexual orientation, religion or origin, was unconstitutional. This meant the end of segregation, and one step closer to possible to equality for Caucasians and African Americans, who in the past, had to live through things such as Jim Crow Laws and slavery.
