Description:
When the Zoramites mixed with the Lamanites they incited them to attack the Nephites. The Lamanite king put the Zoramites as captain over his armies, and the Chief of these captains was the man Zarahemnah.
We have no direct information about Zerahemnah, other than that he was a Zoramite and a very evil man.
When Zerahemnah led his armies into battle they were met by the armies of Moroni, who had recently been appointed Chief Captain over the Nephites. Moroni's second in command was Lehi, the son of Zoram, the previous Chief Captain.
Zerahamnah and his armies had no armor, but were barely dressed in loin clothes. On the other hand, Moroni had prepared his army with metal armor to cover most of their body. Largely because of this the Nephites had a fantastic victory.
When the Lamanites were surrounded on the shores of the River Sidon, Moroni offerred them peace on the condition that they would leave with an oath to never return.
At first Zerahemnah refused, and tried to kill Moroni. He was scalped by Moroni's guard, and at seeing this many of the Lamanites did take the oath.
After a renewed period of fighting Zerahemnah did finally call his men to surrender and leave with an oath. He is never again mentioned in the record.
