Description:
When Alma saw the wickedness of the Zoramites, and the impending war with the Lamanites, he was very sorrowful. So, he gathered his three sons to him, and one by one (in private) he delivered his last counsel to each of them.
To Helaman he gave custody of the sacred records, giving instructions on how to lead the church and what to do with the records.
To Shiblon he gave some basic counsel and staying faithful.
To Corianton he spoke the most. He chastized him for his sin with the harlot, Isabel, but he also taught him great doctrines regarding the resurrection, as well as the Spirit World. Corianton, it seems, was confused and troubled about these subjects, and Alma wanted to put his mind at rest before it came his time to go.
Alma was translated the next year.
