sep 10, 75 BC - Zoramite Converts

Description:

In spite of Corianton's actions, Alma and Amulek did find success in teaching the poorer classes of the city. It seems that the wealthier residents treated them bad and would not allow them to participate in the religious rite on the Rameumptom. Being thus persecuted in their own city, the poor were willing to listen and soon many became converted.
Now, after a short time Alma and the rest removed to the Land of Jershon, which was just North of the City of Zoram.
When these missionaries left the leaders of the city were angry because the words that they had taught destroyed their crafts. So they secret learned how the people of the city had reacted to the preaching of Alma and his brethren.

Once this was known those who had been converted were driven out of the city. They came over to the land of Jershon and were taken in by the People of Ammon.
When the Zoramites saw this they were angry with the People of Ammon. They sent messengers that threatened to attack the Land of Jershon if they did not also cast these converts out. However, the people of Ammon paid no attention to them.
