jul 24, 89 BC - Zoramites Separate

Description:

The Zoramites were an apostate group of Nephites that had separated themselves from the rest of the people. Led by a man named Zoram, they settled on the east, near the border of the Lamanites, and called the place the City of Zoram.
They seem to have existed as a separate people for some time and had built a significant city. However, they followed a false concept of Election in which they believed that they were chosen for salvation and everyone else was chosen to be condemned.

The particulars of their worship I will discuss in the event "Mission to Zoramites." I place there separation here as it is clear that they had existed for some time before that mission took place in 74 BC, and they become a significant part of the story later.
I also think that their separation had to have been in the early years of the Reign of the Judges, and likely during a period of peace. With the changing of the government it would have been fairly easy to convince people that the new government was not for them, and in peace they could have effected the separation without too much notice from others.
