mar 31, 76 BC - Lamanite Attack
Description:
After the flight of the people of Anti-Nephi-Lehi (now called people of Ammon) the Lamanites amassed a great army and the following year invaded the Nephites with the intent of destroying the people of Ammon.
The Nephites, having sworn to protect the people of Ammon, had placed their armies between them and the Lamanites.
When the Lamanites came the two armies clashed, resulting in the greatest conflict in Nephite history to this point. Tens of Thousands died, both of the Nephites and the Lamanites.
We are not told who the Chief Captain was, but I again assume it was Zoram. This is just my opinion, but I believe Zoram was killed in this battle, leading to Moroni being appointed in his stead.
It is also likely that Moroni took part in this battle as a soldier, or possibly a lesser captain.
It would appear that Zoram's sons, Lehi and Aha, also participated, but since Aha is not mentioned again he may also have died. Lehi, on the other hand, seems to play a large role in the wars that followed.
