feb 5, 81 BC - Ammonihah Destroyed
Description:
The Lamanites, angered at the Nephites because of the conversion of the people of Anti-Nephi-Lehi, marched their armies to attack the Nephites.
They came first to the city of Ammonihah and destroyed it. This was done according to the words of Alma, and was a punishment for the murder of those who had converted.
The damage done was so extensive that there was no attempt to rebuild the city for eight years, and then it was rebuilt only in part.
It became known as the Desolation of the Nehors.
The destruction occurred on the 5th day of the 2nd month of the 11th year of the judges.
