jan 1, 1792 - Mary Wollstonecraft: A Vindication of the Rights of Woman
Description:
In Wollstonecraft’s initial response to Burke she wrote, A Vindication of the Rights of Men (1790), a rebuttal that argued in favor of government reform, and stated that religious and civil liberties were in man's birth right, with corruption caused mostly by ignorance. This was very similar to how Thomas Paine also disagreed with Burke but what made Wollstonecraft unique was her arguing for women on the same level as men. This was a ground-breaking work of literature which still affects and drives femisinsm and human rights today.
