Description:
After his sons had left on their mission, and realizing that he had no children to give the sacred records to, Mosiah made preparations for giving them to Alma the Younger.
These preparations included the translating of the 24 Jaredite plates. This was partly because the people were very anxious to know what those records said.
Mosiah was also likely anxious to make sure the work was done before he died.
Once this work was done he made copies of the Brass Plates and the Plates of Nephi that all the people could have access to them and study them.
