Description:
At this time all the various people united under the rule of Mosiah II, and they all took on themselves the name of Nephites.
The people included in this are as follows:
1. The Nephites who came with Mosiah I and their descendants, being descended from Nephi.
2. The people of Zeniff, who were also descended from Nephi.
3. The people of Alma, who also were descended from Nephi.
4. The people of Zarahemla, being descended from Mulek, the son of Zedekiah (and sometimes called the Mulekites).
Though they all took the name of Nephites, the people of Zarahemla were actually a larger group. This would indicate that the Nephites had a stronger cultural identity. However, the unique identity of the Mulekites survived until after the coming of Christ when the people truly became one.
It was also at this time that Alma baptized all the people who had come with King Limhi.
