feb 26, 137 BC - First Assault
Description:
Tired of the oppression of the Lamanites the people of Zeniff pressed Limhi to allow them to try and free themselves by attacking the Lamanites. Limhi did not like the idea, but after much pressure he consented.
The people of Zeniff attacked and were driven back, suffering great losses.
This attack likely occurred several years after the last Lamanite attack. This allowed the ranks of the army to be replenished by the young men who were coming of age. It was also likely many of these younger men that were most anxious to engage in this plan.
