apr 14, 1600 - Refectory Table
Description:
Large rectangular refectory tables often had tops made of single planks of walnut. The supports were elaborately carved trestles, dwarf Doric columns, or turned baluster forms. Both plain and carved stretchers were used. Small tables often had hexagonal and octagonal tops, and were supported by carved central pedestals. The edges of the table tops were usually treated with ornamented moldings.
