Description:
Nephi and his followers constructed a temple after the pattern of the Temple of Solomon. This occurred after Nephi fled from his brethren, but sometime before 570, as it is after the temple that Nephi records that 30 years had passed.
As the temple of Solomon took 7 years to build, and was made of much more expensive materials, I am assuming that the temple of the Nephites would have taken about 4 or five years to complete.
I have it beginning in the year 577, about three years after they fled. With this it was likely completed about 573.
