mar 13, 591 BC - Building the Ship
Description:
Some days after arriving in Bountiful, Nephi is commanded to build a ship. This would have taken some time as it required the building of a forge, the smelting of metals to make tools, and the construction of the ship from scratch; meaning they had to chop down their own trees and fashion them into proper shapes for the ship.
The whole process would have taken, in my opinion, 6 to 9 months, leaning toward the longer time due to the initial opposition of Laman and Lemuel.
So, I list it beginning in the early spring of the year 591, allowing for about four months of rest before the project began. This means that the ship would have likely been finished late that year, giving a few month to prepare for the voyage the following spring.
