aug 13, 590 BC - Destruction of Jerusalem
Description:
When Zedekiah rebelled, Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, destroyed Jerusalem and the temple and carried the king and others captive, making the Third Babylonian Captivity.
Lehi and his family had crossed the ocean some 2 years earlier, and thus were not present for the destruction of Jerusalem. Their descendants would learn of the event from the Mulekites, nearly 400 years later.
