This occurred when Jehoiachin was taken captive and Zedekiah was made king. It was during this time that Ezekiel was taken into Babylon (Ezekiel 1: 2; 24:1; 26:1; 33:21).

As this occured immediately before the Book of Mormon begins, we know that all of Lehi's family, as well as Ishamel's would have had this very clearly in their memormy.
