Description:

The Ottoman Empire, led by Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent, launched an attack on Belgrade in Hungary in order to expand into central Europe. Hungary could not get aid from other European powers and relied upon a few local knights. The Ottoman's had a large army of Janissaries and Hungary fell victim to the invasion.
The loss ended the Hungarian monarchy and unified kingdom. Most of Hungary became part of the Ottoman empire. The rest of Hungary soon came under the power of the Hapsburgs, granting them more leverage during the Hapsburg-Valois wars.
