Description:

The first battle towards colonial freedom from the British was the Battle of Bunker Hill in Boston on June 17, 1775. From the battle, a famous quote emerged: “Don’t fire until you see the whites of their eyes!” Though the British were victorious, the Colonists were inspired to unite in their fight for political and economic freedom. They also showed Britain that they were a force to be reckoned with and would not go down without a fight. This battle was considered the first battle of the Revolutionary War.
