dec 16, 1773 - Boston Tea Party

Description:

The Boston Tea Party occurred when the governor of Massachusetts, Thomas Hutchinson, vowed to have the tea taxes paid and the tea unloaded on his son's ship on December 17, 1773. The night before the deadline, sixty colonists dressed up as Native Americans and boarded Hutchinson's son's ship. The colonists dumped 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor. The Boston Tea Party encouraged more Colonists to unite in their rebellion against British Parliament. British Parliament responded by imposing stricter rules on the Colonists.
