Description:

Solon takes power as the annual chief leader, also known as archon, of Athens. Although Solon held a seat of power, he had little legislative power. Solon was of noble decent and is believed to be a merchant before he took power. Solon was also known in Athens as a well respected poet, who often criticized the system through his work. He even went as far as convincing the Anthenians, through his literary works to take back the island of Salamis.
