World War II began in September 1939 when Britain and France declared war on Germany following Germany’s invasion of Poland. In 1919, Lloyd George and Woodrow Wilson met to discuss how Germany was to be made to pay for the damage world war one had caused. (Treaty of Versailles). In January 1933. Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany, he began to make Germany use of the army and weapons. Britain and France were concerned that communism would rise and believed that a stronger Germany might help to prevent the spread of Communism to the West. On October 28, 1940, Italy invades Greece. On May 17, 1940, German forces invade Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg. France Winston Churchill also becomes British Prime Minister. On April 6, 1941, German forces invade Yugoslavia and Greec.
