jun 12, 1776 - Common Sense
Description:
Common Sense was the pamphlet published by Thomas Paine and distributed throughout the colonies shortly before the outbreak of the Revolutionary War. It spoke heavily of Enlightenment ideals and why the colonies would be better off governing themselves. The works well constructed arguments and easy to follow logic helped increase the desire for rebellion among Americans, and ultimately helped lead to the first ever lasting democratic government.
