jun 18, 1815 - Napoleon's defeat and exile
Description:
With the formation of the Quadruple Alliance of Austria, Prussia, Russia, and Great Britain to end Napoleon's reign, the emperor began to grow desperate and reckless. After his first defeat, he was granted the island of Elba and a comfortable life, though this wasn't enough for him. He escaped the island and took command once again from Louis XVIII, the restored monarch. On June 18th, 1815, however, his desperate gamble backfired at the battle of Waterloo. He was exiled to the island of St. Helena, where he lived the rest of his life spitefully writing against the rulers of Europe.
