Description:
Murdered his father, Wendi, for the throne. He extended his father's conquests, drove back northern nomads, made a milder legal code, upgraded Confucian education, and furtheres political unification. Yangdi lived a life of luxury, ordering his subjects to carry out lots of construction projects. Losses in Korea (611 & 614) and against Turkic nomads (615) cause revolts and his assassination in 618 by his own ministers.
