jul 23, 1960 - Payola Scandal - The Payola Scandal was when Dj's were being given credit for songs they didn't help create. This all eventually caught up to the people doing it and caused Alan Freed to lose his show because of it. This hurt the integration of black artists because Alan Freed was one of the few people who played black artists at the time.
