protestant regions for protestant people, catholic regions for catholic people
north and central Germany became Lutheran, south Germany stayed Catholic
leaders made new state Churches which people had to belong to
Peace of Augsburg ended religious war but also ended Charles’ dream of 1 empire with 1 church
