Description:

Originally produced at the West End by Disney Theatrical Productions & Sonia Friedman

The year is 1593 when Shakespeare has a cramp and a vague idea of a new play - He don´t know how he will start withh it , yet he has just the name of a role figure - Romeo.

Every evening, young Viola De Lesseps sit in the audience at The Rose. She can make all the replies in Will Shakespeare's old plays outside-her dream is to stand on stage. Unfortunately, impossible - the acting profession is only open to men. In addition, Viola has to marry Lord Wessex - a noble but inseparable fellow in need of a real homicide.

So one day, a sprout of mustache shows up on an audition for the role of Romeo in Wills yet unprecedented play. He is commissioned to kiss Will who plays Julia. And oh my kiss!

1) Viola is one of the most popular character in the play shakespare in Love. Viola is a mysterious character, she was a girl that wanted to be famous be acting in the theater that was done by Wiliam shakespare. She then decided to act like a boy so that she can be able to get the role in the theater. Because the teatre supposed to be played in the Renaissance where women didn´t have the ability to enter the scene. When Viola enterned the scene to try her chance to get the role, she overstept the norms that said "it´s not illegal for a women to act in a theatre or been seen at the scene". That shows us how determend she is, because she decided to reach her goals even if it cost her the whole life. That why i think Viola is a person who have many dreams that can be reached be his determind and strong personality. We could also know that Voila is a good actors because she succed in acting a role that belong to a boy, without letting someone reveal that she acually was a girl.

3) In class we learned about Wiliam Shakespare when he was under the balkon observing julia. She described her as the light wich was shown in the theatre to. The metafor he used was upcommen in theatre. Another thing that i learned in the class and that was seen in the play was Renaissance. We got to know that in the Renaissance fashion growed up in a modern way wich was influenced by Queen Elizabeth I. We could see that the characters were clothed in a very fashioned and modern way, in order to Viola the clothes she was dressed with were very high qualitied and modern with huge undepart. Another thing that was shown in theatre wich have it roots in the Renaissance where the norms that separeted women from social activites, boys were more priorited than women in this period. It hve a conection with Viola acting like a boy to get the role because it wasn´t illegal that girls was shown in such events.

4) What surprised me the most with the paly was how the danced. It was like old dance performance. The way they moved there feet was very beautiful because the didn´t fail and danced the same steps at the same time.
