aug 5, 470 BC - Battle of Plataea
Description:
The battle of Plataea was the last big pitch battle of the Greco-Persian wars. It happened when after the battle of Salamis, which depleted most of the Persian navy, so they didn't fight it over water. They marched their army to Plataea to confront the Greek side. Both the sides had a stand off for abut 11 days because they both had good ground until Athens faked a retreat ton take the Persians out of their defensive spot. Then, after the Greeks faked retreat and the Persians had moved, the Greeks charged down their hill towards the Persians and completely wrecked them.
