sep 29, 480 BC - Battle of Salamis
Description:
The battle of Salamis happened after the Persian "victory" at Thermopylae. The Persians marched down all the way through Epirus and Attica to Athens, which had been evacuated to a island named Salamis. A fake Greek traitor told the Persians where the Athenians were hiding, which was a trick to make the Persians think that all the Athenians were cowering there. However, the Athenian navy was just waiting patiently behind the island with the wind going in their favor. Because the Persians were tricked, when they got there the Athenians came and smashed them.
