feb 7, 480 BC - Battle of Thermopylae
Description:
The battle of Thermopylae happened after the battle of Marathon. Because the Persians lost the battle of Marathon, they tried to find another way into Greece because the old one didn't work. They came upon a narrow pass between the mountains, which they found out from a fake Greek traitor, who tricked them into coming there. The fake traitor told them about this because Athens and other Greek city-states had already set up an army there and would confront the Persians with a serious advantage. The advantage was having the higher ground, as the Greeks put a wall there to throw spears off of.
