Description:
In these wars, Athens was in a position where they couldn't lose. But Sparta slowly gave them problems that cost them the war. Sparta could not get through Athens walls so they destroyed city-states outside the walls that were allied with Athens. Athens had so many people living in their city. Then Athens city got the plague from a shipment of rice. This killed many people including their leader and his son. Finally, Athens made the decision that lost them the war. They tried to take over a city-state allied with Sparta. Sparta reacted to this by teaming up with Persia to finally end the Peloponnesian wars.
