may 5, 480 BC - The Battle Of Thermopyla
Description:
In this war, Persia decided to go to Athens by land and they took units from each city-state they passed. By the time they got there, their army was huge. But Athens and Sparta had the advantage by sitting in a mountain pass. Everything was going well but then a traitor from the Greek side told Persia how to get behind them. All Greek forces retreated except three hundred Spartan soldiers stayed behind to slow the Persians down so the rest of the army could escape.
