nov 24, 1607 - Jamestown Established
The establishment of Jamestown started a new era for colonization. For the first time North America was being colonized. This colony was setup in 1607 by the British on the coast of Virginia as a colony of the Virginia Company. The settlers of this colony had a hard time in the beginning and had to employ the help of the Native Americans to survive. This contact brought upon the opportunity for trade in goods and practices but it also was a point at which disease began to be spread.
