Description:

After the Missouri Compromise,
James Monroe stated the Monroe Doctrine. In 1823 James Monroe said that the American continents are not to be considered subjects of colonization. The Monroe Doctrine stated that America would not tolerate any further colonization in the western hemisphere. The Doctrine was a warning to all European nations to stay out of America. If any European nation tried to colonize any part of America than the United States would consider it an act of violence and they fight back.
