The Seven Years War put an end to the Salutary Neglect. The seven years where was the colonies vs the French and Native Americans. France built several forts in the Ohio River Valley which threatened British rule. During the Seven Years War, George Washington was a prominent young general. He attempted to negotiate with France to go back from the valley He was unsuccessful and, in the end, the Seven Years War broke out.
