oct 9, 1814 - Hartford Convention Key Concept 4.1,II
Description:
Following the Treaty of Ghent, many Federalists gathered at the Hartford Convention in opposition of the war. They demanded a 2/3 vote for embargo, new state admission, war declaration, abolishment of the 3/5 clause, limiting the Presidents terms to only one, and to prohibit election of two successive presidents from a single state. Although not all the demands were fulfilled, the Federalists party end had come at last and with that the rise of nationalism was prevalent.
