aug 7, 1675 - Metacom's War Key Concept 2.1,III

Description:

Unlike most wars, which are fought over trade rights and resources with small tribes, Metacom’s War was an agreement between the native tribes to push the colonists into the sea. The leader who laid out the plan was a Wampanoag chief known as “King Philip”. The reason for this sudden change in war tactics was because the Native Americans were desperately looking for food and water which new colonists would rapidly claim as their own.
