Description:

Mesoamericans were contrived of many Native Americans whose influence stretched from about Mexico all the way into the forests and mountains of Honduras. The Native Americans of the region had large scale agriculture with crops such as, maize, squash, and beans. They had urban societies that had polytheistic religions and bureaucratic states with the rulers controlling everything through religion, trade, tribute, and violence. The Aztec resided near modern day Mexico City and the Inca along the Pacific coast from the Chilean mountains and into Ecuador. To give an overview of the inhabitants of North America, each tribe were attributed with different names given by past experiences or the environment that they lived in. Because of the multitude of the Native Americans, the colonies put them into groups depending on where they were located in the U.S. such names included: The Eastern Woodland Indians, the Iroquois, the Mississippi Valley Indians, the Cahokia, Great Plains Indians, and the Pacific Coast Indians. Up until the arrival of European influence, the Americas’ remained an isolated land whose inhabitants often fought, collected food, and made treaties with each other.
