Two Russian chemists, Lev Fyodorov and Vil Mirzayanov reveal in a Russian newspaper, Moskovskiye Novosti, that Russian and the Soviet Union repeatedly developed new Novichok agents designed specifically to be undetectable and more potent than any other nerve agent. This disclosure was made based on “environmental concerns.” Russia admitted to this information, and Mirzayanov was sentenced to high treason. He was later released and now lives in the US.
