Description:
“Journey” describes the struggle of a poor pregnant Chinese woman who has seven children and a gambling husband. Lim implies the question of the need for abortion rights or birth control rights for poor Chinese women in Malaysia. This short story raises the concern related to those women of the sexual liberation era as they debated issues about pregnancy and entrapment (Faridah & Quayum, 2003).
